Business events and The Wing

Silverstone is a working events venue all year. The Wing, its conference and exhibition centre, hosts meetings, trade shows and client days, and a helicopter keeps senior diaries intact.

Silverstone's International Conference and Exhibition Centre, known as The Wing, has five adaptable halls totalling 12,500 square metres, 17 additional spaces and room for up to 4,000 delegates. Guests can fly in from London in about 20 to 25 minutes, subject to landing permission, which suits executives with a tight diary.

What is The Wing at Silverstone?

Silverstone's venue pages call it the International Conference and Exhibition Centre. It sits in the middle of the circuit, and its own materials describe 360 degree views of the Grand Prix track, with a private balcony on each hall and some spaces overlooking the start and finish line.

Silverstone also states that 2,764 solar panels cover the building. We use these figures as published, and the circuit's own site is the place to confirm layouts and numbers for your event.

What kinds of business events take place?

The venue-hire pages describe trade shows and exhibitions, meetings and conferences, private dinners and corporate festivals, plus vehicle showcases and branded displays. The wider site lists dining for up to 900 guests, 22 meeting spaces including industrial-style garages, and pit garages and paddocks on a site of over 600 acres.

  • Conferences and meetings: halls and rooms in a range of sizes.
  • Exhibitions and trade shows: large halls with circuit views.
  • Product launches and showcases: the pictures on this page show a car launch outside the building.
  • Dinners and corporate hospitality: settings for private dinners and client evenings.
  • Team days: track activities and outdoor days, which the circuit lists under team building.

Pages on the circuit site do not describe product launches in detail, so speak to Silverstone's venue team for what your event needs.

Because the venue is also part of a working motor racing circuit, the programme around your event may include race meetings, track days or driving experiences. Ask Silverstone what else is on that day, because it affects arrival times, noise and how busy the site is. For the year-round calendar, see events and track days.

Corporate hosts also use the circuit for activities away from the halls. Silverstone's venue pages mention running and cycling on the track, sunrise yoga, woodland glamping and dinner next to the pit lane. Whether your guests are speakers, clients or colleagues, a short flight can make the day feel part of the occasion.

Why fly to a business event, and what does the day look like?

Silverstone is a long way from central London by road on a busy day. A helicopter from London Heliport at Battersea covers about 48 nautical miles (88 km) in 20 to 25 minutes, so the journey is closer to a commute than a day out.

  • Time: same-day return without a long road leg either side.
  • Groups: up to four passengers in the helicopters listed on the route page, with other options for larger groups on request.
  • Hosting: bring a guest or a keynote speaker straight to the venue.
  • Planning: a fixed departure window makes the day easy to schedule.

What does a typical business day look like?

The shape of the day depends on your programme, but a typical plan is easy to describe. Guests meet at London Heliport at Battersea, fly for about 20 to 25 minutes, land at Silverstone, and are met for the short transfer to the venue. After the meeting, exhibition or dinner, the party returns to the heliport for the flight back.

  1. Before: you send the event date, arrival time and passengers; we request the slot and confirm the plan.
  2. Morning: check-in at Battersea, short safety briefing, departure.
  3. Event: the day runs to the host's programme.
  4. Evening: return flight at the agreed time, weather permitting.

Our day by helicopter page covers the pad, the briefing and what to bring. Specific ground arrangements at Silverstone are confirmed when we quote.

How do landing and access work for The Wing?

Silverstone runs a heliport with a bespoke terminal of over 8,500 sq ft of covered space, announced in April 2025. On event days the circuit manages arrivals through its own heliport operation, so slots are limited and every landing is subject to landing permission and site suitability. On quieter business days the arrangements can differ, and we confirm what applies to your date when we quote. Read more at Silverstone heliport and landing.

Tell us the exact venue within the circuit, the time of your meeting and whether a colleague will meet you. We then work out the arrival and departure plan around the event programme.

Can guests stay on site, and what should you ask the venue?

Silverstone's pages describe two on-site accommodation options: Escapade Silverstone, a new accommodation and clubhouse with private residences, a restaurant, bar, roof deck, pool and gym, and the Hilton Garden Inn, which overlooks the start and finish straight and connects to the conference centre by footbridge. Silverstone gives over 380 bedrooms across the two.

For a two-day event, guests can fly in for day one, stay on site and fly out after day two, which we can arrange as separate legs. If you only need the day, a same-day return is the simpler plan.

What should you ask the venue team?

Silverstone's venue team decides layouts, catering and access for your event, so it is worth putting a short list of questions to them before you book the flight.

  • Which hall or room is your event in, and where should arriving guests report?
  • What are the start, finish and set-up times, and when must guests be on site?
  • Is the event running on a day when the circuit also manages other activity, such as a race meeting or track day?
  • Do you need overnight rooms at the on-site hotels?
  • Who will meet your guests, and is there a named contact for the day?

Pass the answers to us, and we align the flight to them. If you are hosting guests from different parts of the country, tell us and we can look at departures from elsewhere in the UK.

How do you plan a flight for a business event?

Book the venue through Silverstone first, then send us the event date, the time you need to be on site, your passenger numbers and your departure point. We reply with a quote and the next steps. Prices are all-inclusive per flight and depend on date, helicopter and passenger count; Battersea Helicopter's indicative figure is from £14,950 + VAT return. See helicopter to Silverstone cost and our enquiry page.

If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing. This site is not affiliated with Silverstone Circuit or Formula 1.

For guests travelling by road, a chauffeur transfer to Silverstone can be planned together with the flight.
